That's really outstanding, Krystee. Congratulations. I noticed they have classes, you ought to do something on cabbing and tumbling.

Do they sell obsidian or need someone to run the obsidian tumblers?

Thanks everyone! Today was my first day! I opened and closed and everything in between. Spent hours learning about and handling all sorts of rocks I have never heard of before. Had to pull out the reference books for many customers to be able to explain things to them. I really like our meteorite section, wow they are expensive though. And some of our shark teeth are 5 to 6 inches tall! I will get some pictures of the store in the next few weeks... today though, I am exhausted and not used to being on my feet all day long. Had an absolute blast though and can't wait to do it again tomorrow!!!!! Earthlight will be at Tuscon too..... just not me at the booth

I'm glad for you, Krystee. Not many folks get a job doing their hobby and passion. That's exciting to hear.

Well, I got a few pictures today. My batteries ran out when I got ready to take close ups Oh well, another day! Here's some wall shots of the shop I'm working in: A snippet of fossils A few stone beads One shelf of the carvings Some jewelry (right corner side of jewelry display cabinet) Some cathedrals And I just love this piece, it's a very large phantom rutilated quartz! It's still a learn everything as fast as you can process but, I learned a lot more today! Monday I get to work the shop all by myself. I'm a little nervous, but super excited too!!!
