When your links disappear for a while, it's usually because the site hosting it is having problems, doing maintenance, or getting too many hits at once. They can't update what you see on a forum, us linking it is only referring to it, we're standing outside pointing at an item behind a window. It only changes when the person in the house moves/changes that item.
When a HUGELY popular site does what we did, 'hotlink' a website, and say hundreds of people go there immediately, if they are a small site on a small IP, it can overwhelm their bandwidth and actually shut down their site for a time. Think 50 people trying to get through a 1 person door at the same time. If they stuff themselves in hard enough, no one can get through. This is a small forum, so the likelihood of us crashing someone's website by hotlinking is tiny. They were probably doing backup and maintenance last nite when it didn't show up.

I can get help for you Bill.
It would have really helped if they had installed square man hole covers.
How would you find such appropriate information?
Really,i can find help.

James, yes I have a trivial affliction. Upon reading of your desire to roll a manhole cover, I remembered seeing this episode. I like trivia, as minutiae often contains interesting connections to the big picture. (Three lower Artes Liberales, grammar, logic and rhetoric). The word trivia was also used to describe a place where three roads met in Ancient Rome, perhaps at the bottom of a hill. . . We need to send some large wheels of cheese to San fran. . .

I was getting ready for a response.I think I have been had. The 3 roads meeting at the bottom of a hill left me a bit paralyzed. Trivial affliction... How heavy are the biggest wheels of cheese?

James, this record setting wheel of goat cheese from Italy (from Sept 2010) is 535 kg. or 1179.5 lbs. Ya wouldn't want to get hit by it! Jean

Rats!
I owned a reptile store for 11 years. In the heyday of 2006 we were buying 2000+ mice and 1000+ rats a WEEK! For the entire 11 years we always had 500+ mice and 300+ rats in the shop.
My bride's mother would have died in her shoes if she knew even ONE rodent was in the building! She was not allowed in the rodent area. We told her it was where the trash was and it smelled bad. We kept the secret for the entire eleven years I owned the place!! The entire family assisted in the deception by omission.

Here's just one reason I hate rats: See the stitches between the red X's? While Cricket was helping me clean cages one time, a cage full of feeder rats had secretly planned an escape. When I had the cage top removed, on some hidden signal known only to them, they all bailed at the same time and went every which way. This happened, not in an enclosed room, but on my patio. She chased one of them down and tried to grab it while it was attempting to climb the rack of cages. It turned and bit her, and this was the result. Hours spent waiting at a busy emergency vet, four stitches and a vet bill in the hundreds of dollars. I ended up leaving her there, and went back about 2 am to pick her up. We were heading out of town in the morning for a long Memorial Day weekend. (That's when it always happens!) They did a pretty crummy job with the haircut, I would have been embarrassed. She was actually pretty good at catching and dispatching rats. She cornered a wild one in our living room that had come in the open back door, took less than a second to judge what she needed to do, then bit it in the neck and killed it instrantly. Good dog! I won't even tell you about the frozen rats in the freezer that quit working... Scott, I'm glad you have your very own non-birthday thread, where I don't feel guilty going off topic! Jean

No worries, this thread is bogus so all bogus topics are welcomed. And rats biting dogs it completely bogus! Sad to see those pics.
