Most of this is wood, agate and flint is from the Marshall area of Wyoming from this summer and last. In a lot of the detail pics I now (unfortunately) see lint left behind by the towel I dried these with. I just pulled them out of the burnish tonight after a 5-day polish. Most of the batch: Some Lake Superior Agates that keep finding their way into almost every batch. I had 100# of low grade stuff I started tumbling last year that I got cheap from someone in Denver, and tumbled it in my recently-broken mega-tumbler for ~4 months and then cleaned it all and just sat most of it aside and keep feeding it into new batches. Some of the Wyoming Flint Wyoming Wood Marshall, Wyoming area agates A little Turritella for good measure This was a fun batch. I didn't get a lot of pics of that flint but I really like it. Very hard and solid and takes a really nice shine. Also a lot of diversity of colors and patterns.

Great job on the wood. That stuff has so many crevasses that it is difficult to get most of it to shine. The shine on all of it was obvious right from the first photo. Jim

Hey John those are nice, I like the wood. I keep hearing wood is hard to tumble because it fractures so bad. Whats the deal? I see Az rainbow wood on ebay cheap and even on here seems like its a red haired stepchild as far as price. I really want to get some and try it, Az wood is so colorful and even the browns are disticnt and varied in each piece. Whats yalls opinion? Hope the mega tumbler gets fixed!

I tumbled some rainbow pet wood from AZ and it crumbled and broke until it was tiny, this wood shown is tougher and way more stable. I think rainbow wood might do better shaped on a wheel, and maybe someone else has had better experience with it than I did. I ended up just keeping it as filler until it would finally stop breaking and exposing new cracks, which was when the pieces were pea-sized to marble sized. It is a pretty color and would be a nice rough specimen. Sent from my phone.

Wood lover here too. Those are great, as Jim has previously noted, the woods in Wyoming look very similar to the ones I find here. I have had okay luck with tumbling AZ wood, I shape it on a tile saw, then vibe tumble. I believe the lessened impact of the vibe helps a lot.

dryer sheets? John.. sweet shine! Love the Santa Cecelia granite tile for the counter. Nice look. Yeah I'm not familiar with dryer sheets but I'm guessing they don't leave lint? Can't take any credit for the granite, came with the house but we do like it.
