That is as cheap as i can find it. Miles Supply.
I tumble a lot w/big tumblers and use a lot of coarse grit. 90% is the coarse, 10% is 220,600,AO polish combined.
So three 50 pound bags stuffed into 5 gallon drums was $371 shipped from Vermont to Georgia.
3 x $75.50= $226.50 shipping= $130 taxes= $14
This 30/60 mix is used for a wire saw somehow. It is great coarse grind mix for agates and glass

Great price, but 50 lbs would last me approx 20 years or more, LOL!

That dang coral eats it like a piranha Jean. It is worn out in 4 days. I know what you mean. I got a 16,24 and 36 pound barrels running coarse right now. Thurs will be 5 days. So 1.25+1.75+2.75 cups = 6 cups a week . Some times run more than that. Hey, too old for sports sex party ing brawling stirring-might as well be tumbling hahaha It is cheaper in the long run for me to throw it out when it is reduced past 250- 300 grit. That happens in about 4 days at fast speeds i run. It just runs electric bill up and beats up my stuff. I could reuse the grit but it is bad about getting gaseous and i can not deal with it blowing the cap of and dry running ruining the tumbles. The coral finishes w/very little 220 600 and polish. But it laughs out loud at rounding. I would imagine lapper wheels last 3-4 minutes at your house when you make those costaricaballs :> Did you know that scientists can still not figure out how they got those big balls perfectly round? It is actually a miracle. It does not look like a miracle- but it is a very very strange phenomena to make a ball that size and have it dead round. It is not a small miracle it is a huge miracle. Up there with the 7 wonders. Just to make a small ball like you did has scientist wondering about martian intervention or relationship. Divine intervention like in PULP FICTION Yes,you Jean are a very special person.

I use one of these for making the large rock spheres. The trick is to use your hands and eyes to get it round. You need a good sense of spatial dimensions. No heavenly or otherwordly help required, just a lot of time. So about six lbs per week... Thats's to run three tumblers? That's not so bad. I haven't ran the old tumbler I got from Edmohs recently. Gotta conserve electricity. If we have a hot spell for a week, and run the A/C, it'll take the bill from $65 to $160. Since billing is tiered (pay more for each unit when you use more), will wait until chance of hot weather diminishes. Was about 85 degrees INSIDE the house the house yesterday. I can live with it, but had a fan running for Lucy. She'll get a flea bath today ehwn it's hottest out, will help her cool down.

The heat suites me fine. I was raised w/out A/C here in Atlanta. All my friends freeze me out. A/C to the max.
I got one of those center feed grind/polisher.
Mine will wet you down.

Me too, but I'll bet your dog house is air conditioned for the dogs. Ninety degrees (but it's a dry heat!) on the patio, where I'm using my flat lap.
Yes, my family in Costa Rica has been using those Barrancas to shape those big stone spheres for hundreds of years. (Kidding!) We do have one of them, don't remember if it has the water feed or not? I could stand to be wet down today. Probably will, when this dog gets here bath. Coming up soon. She almost had to have a bath after a near encounter with another skunk last night. Someone took her out last night without first checking to see if the coast was clear. Fortunately, she didn't see the critter. Quickly got her back inside, and shooed the skunk out of the yard. He never even stunk. Could it be the one I relocated?

James, wasn't sure if Scott was calling us "classy" or "crazy.' Most likely the later.
Sorry, but my eyes are blue... Those look scary! I've heard of kaleidoscope eyes, and far away eyes,
but not laser beam eyes.

James, the girl with kaleidoscope eyes was in Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Beatles.
What is like an inbred word? I said far away eyes, not lazy eyes.

you guys are clazee. Jeans sphere is higher precision than the costa rican balls. Oh no Jean. Scott called us clazee. You said 'did you mean classy or crazy'. I was referring to my family being inbred. I understood you clearly. It was me wondering off on lazy eyes. Please forgive me.

I forgive you, James. You can talk about lazy eyes as much as you'd like. And I don't think it has anything to do with being inbred. Not that I'm saying your family isn't inbred... JUST KIDDING!
So which did Scott mean when he called us clazee? Classy? Crazy? Both? LOL!
I think I've had my fill of crazee people today.
