Seems to me like you could just cut six inches off the awning and reset it in the tube. Not a huge deal. I used to sell them for houses. Tell them that you want the old awning. Just the aluminum in that is worth quite a bit. And they will take the tube, put some new ends on it, put new plastic fabric on it and sell it for new. It is probably too late now but if you need to do it again just have them change the fabric. The rest of it is good.
I have you beat by one, I have a bath tub. Why in the hell someone would put a tub in a camper is beyond me other than maybe they had small children and it was easier to bathe them in a tub. ?
I am down on you by one because I do not have my generator yet. I am going to get one that runs on propane because I am in the process of installing a 69 gallon propane tank in the pickup. I am also in the middle of installing a propane system on the pickup so I will be able to run the pickup, hot water heater, furnace, range, generator and refrigerator off of that tank and the two tanks that are already on the front of the camper. With the generator I will be able to run a cabbing machine and the roof air conditioning and heat. I have the furnace but it does not have a blower so I prefer the heat from the roof. I slept in here when it got down to 26 degrees and I only slept under a sheet so it does pretty good.
Winter is catching up on me so the only thing I am working on now is the propane system. I did some pricing and all of the parts with tank the size that I have comes to over $2000. If you count labor it would be $3500 for the whole shebang. I got everything except for the labor for $100.00 and yes the decimal point is in the right place. I am going to have to buy repair kits for two of the components which will cost me about another hundred. The cheapest I have seen propane was $1.23 but I am sure it will be a little more in the filling stations. Once I get it going it will be like driving about a 30 mpg car when figuring price of fuel. Plus, I will be a greenie weenie with my clean fuel. Aiunt ya prowd of me.
