The main reason beavers are eliminated in Georgia for the most part is to keep timber from drowning.
South Georgia may more for plowed crops.
Muskrat and beaver are rare in alligator country like deep south Georgia. There may be a correlation-imagine that.
To get a beaver 100 % the first night. Take a chain saw and saw a 10 x 10 inch opening in the top of the dam and stick the connibear in the flowing water. He will swim thru the flow to find out what happened to the back of his dam.

Same old, same old. Just played with rocks, made a couple more rings, and tried to stay cool.

Couple carved faces.. instant totem pole. Who'd a thunk you could learn so much about beavers and other critters on a rock forum

Jean , it rained sun nite and all day mon. It left us alone sun day. But John was worried about being on that high knob w/lightening cracking around for the last 2 hours of our hunt.
He is from Florida and felt too close to the sky. The ole flatlander got tired doing the hills. Kevin is a 10 cent steak-that is a tough fella. Nothing is gonna phase that one.
I picked up about 1/10 what they got. Just cherry picked.
I saw you got a pellet gun. What kind-rebuilt?-Benjamin? Pump? I had a 20 caliber Sheridan pump-you could probably kill a Cape buffalo w/that thing. Look it up. Made of bronze.
a masterpiece

From perusing airgun blogs, I came across a place in Gardena, CA that rebuilds them. You can't find that one anymore. Will be a little more expensive to shoot, since it requires CO2. The other, a Crossman .177, is a pump. Both are "handguns" not rifles. I took some pics of it before sending it off, I'll try to post them this afternoon.

10-4 Pellet gun in Jean's hands. Watch out! Let's get those photo's up? UPS just delivered it, but it is way too friggin' hot to go outside and try it out. Here's the photos I took of it earlier One of these sold recently for about $350. Here's a link to a site with info on this airgun. www.co2airguns.net/collection/S&W%2078G/Too hot to think right now, plus this laptop sucks. Will try to get back on later.... Jean

My Dad was a great Navy fighter jet pilot. We had this exact Benjamin CO2 air pistol that we shot of the porch. I always out shot him and it made him angry/proud. That was over 40 years ago. White marble plastic grips and all.
