looks like maybe 6 of us only. Tommy looking like farthest to travel is in your future! I have roy's prize box with me. Aww... we'll talk about it when we get there - maybe theres a better way to divide up Roy's awesome prize gift amongst all of us hard-cores who showed up. I would hate to win by default because everyone else including my own brother who hurt his back, having to bow out. There is enough stuff in Roy's box for all six of us to share equally and everyone be happy. Roy is generous.

Woohoo! We'll definitely be bringing some wood. Last weekend we brought home an overflowing wheel-barrow full of year-old seasoned walnut.

Well, I won't be making it. The wife was actually ok with me going up there, just found out an hour ago that the in-laws have a whole bunch of stuff planned. Crud. Hope you all have a great time and find some really cool stuff. We'll probably just swing by Lavic Monday, and maybe into the south Cady's for a bit on the way home. See you all in Quartsite.

Well I managed to escape the snow and am now in Arizona and am thinking that some rockhounding in the Cadys would be a good way to start. Is it possible for a newbie to join the trip and if so what should I bring to contribute (besides beer)?

I dunno, are you a nice guy? Please finish your profile and perhaps give us your name? Bring firewood, a good attitude, a smile and meet us Friday night at the appointed camp spot. Rockhoundng tools cool too. 4WD required on this trip.

Mel, I'l take a camera and get a butt load of pics to post. Seems the trip photographer is great about bringing his camera, but not so great about actually using it to record images for posterity. Too busy picking up rocks (and carefully dropping them in a bucket, no less!).

Orange shoelaces, ring a bell? I can remind you to bring your camera, but I can't make you take photos, lol!
Actually, Scott, I'll volunteer for the job! I'll be the chronicler.

Good luck all you who are lucky enough to be going. I am sure it will be a very memorable time! Maybe next trip for me. Sometimes having to be responsible just plain stinks. LOL Happy hunting!

Eva and I tend to take a lot of photos too although most of mine never see the light of day because they suck hahaha.

I love when folks take these trips and then share the experience with photos and enjoyable reading. After reading Mel's antidotes about the Cadys it will be great to see your trip pics and read the stories of the adventure. Wishing you all all great and successful time.
