Saw ?

I'm in the market for a decent priced slab saw. I've looked at the hi tech 10" saw and the Johnson brothers drop saw. Any advice for either one of these saws ? I'm not cutting huge slabs, just enough to cab with. Thanks

these choices lack some. auto or gravity feed is desirable, and a cross-feed greatly enhances a slab saw.

I wouldn't buy anything from hi-tech, very lightweight fragile equipment. Drop saws are very messy and limited as well. I would go with Barranca or Polaris for a 10 inch saw. If you have the money and space to have a slab saw you don't also have to use as a trim saw I would get an enclosed slab saw. You can find those in 12 inches and up.
