A friend found a potato sized beach rock containing fossils and asked me for an ID. I suck at fossils, but said I’d throw it out to the RTH group to see if anyone can shed some light. The rock is from Miscou Island in northern New Brunswick. The only bedrock in the area is late Jurassic, but it could have been dropped here by a glacier, or dropped on the beach by the tides. The first photo is dry. The second photo is wet. Thanks for any help. Darryl.

Look like snail and bivalve shells imbedded in the host rock. Weathering revealed what you can see on the surface. Sort of like cutting the shells in half.
