that last one is great detail for the anatomy of a centipede. You can see the hollow venom delivery legs well.

I think they used that for a model when they came up with the Predator. Yeah, centipede with dreadlocks... Oh, and I hate strongly dislike Jerusalem crickets as well. But they don't creep me out like the centipedes do. Ugh.

I'm with most everyone else - centipedes give me the willies. I can remember getting bit several times as a kid at summer camp....upstate NY, I think. That last closeup is going to visit my dreams, I'm sure of it! LOL
OK - I know I'm going to regret this! What is a Jeruselem cricket?

Scott, does it ever try to bite you or envenomate? How do all those pointy tips of it's legs feel. I AM NOT going to pic that up lol, it would bite the Hell out of me for sure!

I would rather encounter those after petrification and fossilization!

I'll take a bucket of centipedes over one single politician any day! I know which one has the worst bite.
I kep Vietnamese centipedes communally in a buckt of pine shavings. I tossed in insects and leftover mice and sold the babies. That bucket lasted years with no cleaning the shavings and poo simply composted in the bottom. No smell or nothing. I should do that again! lol

I remember the leaches, and those little green snakes with yellow bellies. They gave me the Willies! One day, a gentleman came out of the latrine with one of the green snakes stuck in his Zorries. The fangs were stuck in the rubber. One more reason to lay awake at night back then. Aside from the fleas and mosquitos.

I used to walk at a regional park in San Diego. Had to stop at one of the port-a-potties along the way. Didn't realize until I was almost through that a large Southern Pacific rattlesnake was sharing the space with me. Fortunately, it was a wheel-chair accessible pottie, so a little bigger than most. Big enough to change your mind in, anyway. The snake was about three feet away. Southern Pacifics are unpredictable and get agitated easily. Had it been a gentle Red Diamondback, it wouldn't have been such a threat.
