So call me tight but my limit is $2.00 prr slab cause I am a.newbie and until u get good at seeing a cab in a slab most times there is only one or two super cabs in a whole slab. Watch for folks selling saw scrap on here it will have lots of one cab wonders! Bill, I'm with you on this one. I also get the inexpensive slabs, the most I have ever paid was $12 for a nice slab of Imperial Jasper. (Which may only end up producing one or two nice cabs.) I love getting the "one cab wonders" and when you make freeform cabs, you can really get the most out of the slab. Besides, with the small slabs, I can just shape on my flat lap, and avoid having to use the trim saw. Most other slabs, I usually pay not more than a couple bucks. Paid $4 for a small slab of Tiffany stone in Quartzsite, which turned out to have some fractures in it, then earlier this year picked up a larger, more solid, fracture free one for a couple bucks at a local show. Go figure. Call it tight, call it cheap, call it frugal - all these adjectives apply to me! - by looking for the deals, you get the most bang for your buck! Jean

Got some high end mats on that list Tony W (Boulder opal, pietersite and if you spend the money for AAA lapis). But I do like that stuff. Lol, yep, but if you want the best rush you got to get the best stuff! I don't know if anyone warned you but when you get into rocks you have to wave your money goodbye Keep your eyes peeled...there are always deals out there for the sharp eyed. Tony
