just to add my 2 centavos to the equation.........
To repeat something already said... DO NOT dump the slurry down a sink it will clog and the pipe repairs will be expensive !!!! Instead try this.... dump your slurry into a plastic pan and set it in the sun until the water evaporates, then take a empty plastic jar (I use a pretzel jar)and dump the dry powder into it. when you next tumble add 1 tbsp of this to your mix with the grit. This will create a slurry, a thicker grit solution, sooner which is what carries the grit across the stones during the initial grinding phase and helps to wear down the stones a little sooner. I have had good results with it, and I think you will too. but never use it for anything other than phase 1 of tumbling or it will ruin the stones.
