For me it's 24", 18", 14", and 10" Plus 6" and 4" trimmers. I currently have 2 18 inchers, but one will eventually have to go.

I'm happy with my 10" (qty 2) and 18" slab saws and a 6" trim saw. There are times when I wish I had something intermediate between the 10" and 18", but not enough to get another saw. I rarely find a rock bigger than I can cut on the 18" saw, but envy those who do!
I'm sorry to hear the water soluble coolant didn't work out. I was hoping to make the switch myself.

I used the topping stones for cinder block walls on my HP 24. Just clamp a piece in the vise and let the power feed do the work. Usually 2-3 cuts did the job. I used stinky Pella oil in that saw. No matter what coolant you use you will need to dress your blade as needed. Aluminum oxide dressing blocks work very fast in big saws. Maybe one cut would do it. I would save the cut pieces to dress trim saw blades.

Well, after 10 or so cuts the blade needs dressing. I have to remove a stone mid cut and am now cutting obsidian, which is taking a precious long time to dress the blade. I may have to get a grinding wheel to really dress it well. For me, having to dress every 8-10 cuts is a deal breaker. My saw is getting cleaned very well and I may continue until this batch is spent. Plus that allows for more learning. I'd say "Not a deal breaker" if used on a short term basis while reclaiming your oil! To clean your saw while you keep on cutting, give your blade a new dress, sounds like a bargain!

yeah, what's cheaper a second set of oil, or multiple dressings shortening blade life. That is a much harder equation!

2. Bury it in the cat litter ( give away the cat first), and leave it for an hour to overnight I missed this one. Tom, that's funny!!! Yeah, no more cats for me, had my fill of them.

Yes, Tom, please do. I'm very interested in how well it works in slab saws mixed as directed (not mixed with detergents). Also, clean any oil residue from your saw before trying it.

Awesome! More results is better for everyone. Too many variables to use my single result as the answer.
