Since I kind of started and promoted a board for smithing I guess I will take the oppertunity to welcome you all to the forum. A great big thanks to the Mods for setting this up, judging from the members that wanted it I think it will be a hit!
Dave1 started a post in another forum that I think should be moved here as it would be a great post to start off with. He provided tons of info and it is drawing lots and lots of comments.
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks
Tom

Thanks Tom! You made it happen!!!! EDIT: and @shotgunner AKA Scott!!!! adrian65 I dug out a box and found my old burnisher AND some jewelry I made in the '60's! The turquoise ring started with the bezel, surrounded by twisted wire, then twisted square wire, fine silver wire twisted around a small finish nail, and scrap silver melted into spheres then filed flat on the bottom. The dino bone pendant was surrounded by scrap silver heated just to the melting point. I also found some Navajo jewelry made by the craftsmen I bought a lot of scrap silver from in Provo Utah. The second photo shows the back side of the pendant. I had totally forgotten these fantastic pieces!

Thank you for posting your jewelry creations, Dave! You got style. I really like them. They're not only elegant, but they also have "substance", it's not thin sheet.

Umm, your welcome everyone, I really did nothing. I brought it up, Scott messaged the Mods, and the members took it from there. Should be a fun place

This will be a great resource. Can't wait to get my shop set up so I can get back to doing some silver work. Its been a year since I've worked any silver.

Thank you Tom for starting this section. I'm a newbie silver smith & have posted questions on the wire wrap section for lack of a better place. Thanks for the better place. Lynn
