I'd love to be there. Still haven't finalized any trip plans for this winter. The U.S. border not letting me take my rocks down to Quartsite(2012) kind of took the excitement out of going to the U.S. But I do miss my rockhound friends and the desert.

I'd come to the BBQ and field trip, but I'm going earlier in January this year (1-5th). If anybody wants to field trip during that time, PM me.

I'm back in AZ at my mom's so will be there too so put me down for one. I'm not sure I'd be much help on a rockhounding trip but there is always Brenda for jasper though a lot of us may be burned out on that area. Jean, what? No guacamole??? Say it ain't so. Sorry you won't be there Denny, you and your sweet lady will be missed. I can bring almost anything..what do you all want from my mom...oh, I mean me...lol.

I have a query into a knowledgeable tour guide about the possibility of taking us for geode digging at wiley's well area. drocknut, I'll keep you in reserve for desert or a side dish. Unless you(r mom) has a specialty! rockpickerforever someone from Cali needs to bring guac for the out of staters. I'll ask kidlet. She kills it!

Last year I think I brought cookies and had a lot left over. Trying to cut back on sugar this year though so maybe will try to think of a side dish (any suggestions appreciated). Not sure about Wiley's well area, I'm not really excited about geodes but I suppose I'd tag along since I don't get a lot of rockhounding in lately. Wish I knew more of that area and could suggest another location.

The books are loaded with locations in that area - I'm game for anywhere you guys want to try.
We are staying in Blythe and are looking into a Friday afternoon trip to a psilomelane(sp?) mine "book location" in that area if anyone wants to tag along.

I'll meet you there Tommy. I know where it is. Hard rock mining.
I'm not huge for geodes either but it would be fun to dig one a ten and cut them. Sole authorship and all. @tommmy would call it a 'selfie'. lol

Besides the BBQ, will there be a campfire at Tony's? If so, I can bring some firewood, but probably not enough for the entire evening. Perhaps others could add to it. Lynn

Just for you, Roy. Can't ya just taste them?
These photos taken this afternoon. The avo tree, not sure what type it is. It was about 6 feet tall when we moved here 20 something years ago. I'd say it's about 25 feet tall.
Enticing...
More than I need to eat
They seem to be a little smaller this year, maybe I didn't water the tree enough.
How many can you see in this photo?
Sorry for teasing you, Roy! If you're going to be there at the BBQ, you'll get some. Jean
