For those who are going to Planet Mine for Chrysocolla, we'll meet at 9am Fri morning at Tony's (Catmandewe) next to the Diamond Pacific building at Desert Gardens. Lynn

Lynn, is that this Friday? Jeeze, I just noticed that today is the 8th. Does anyone know when I got here? I went to Tony's the first day, missed the next day, went the next day and missed yesterday so I guess I got here, uh, a few days ago. Too much math for something that doesn't mean "mehh" to anyone.
Scott, I think I RSVPed but not sure. What else do you need for the bbq? I know where Albertsons is in Blythe so I can bring anything (that does not need to be cooked very much). Plus, the pickup loves to run the freeway on propane and I have a hard time keeping it under 75. Jim

Jim I have no clue what is needed for the barbecue. But a hot side dish would be cool. a crock pot of baked beans/chili?

Don't have a crock pot but I will try to come up with something. If we are hounding that day though I will have to heat it all day in the coffee maker (ok, not). My oven's lowest setting is 170 so is that a good simmer temp that can be left on all day? I am not a cooker and looking at that question I guess I am not a heaterer either but a hot dish would be nice. If that will work I will do some baked beans (from the can). Or if we get back soon enough I can run home and heat it fast. Not sure where I will be at that time because I have to leave here on the 17th when my 14 days are up.
I am seriously thinking about going to the long term pay area so I do not have to keep moving. I can stay 2, 3 or 4 months for one price of $180 Jim

do not leave your stove on all day for this event. Imagine how we'd all feel when your trailer burns down all for a pot of beans!

If you've seen one trailer you have seen them all, what the hell.
Really though, it is a real oven, just smaller than some. The worst that could happen is the propane tank going empty. lol Shouldn't take long to run home and heat up some beans though. Three small pots on top of the stove then combine them into something else. Jim

Thanks, Lynn! Just needed to get everyone on the same page. Will let my phone change the time when I cross into AZ.
If all goes as planned (and I don't fall off the truck while loading firewood again) we are going to head out the afternoon of Friday, Jan 17. Will have the entire next week to hang around Quartzsite. Loving it!!
Is there a field trip planned for the day of the BBQ - January 25? Would that be to Brenda for jasper? Are there any other trips planned by RTHers during the week? I know the Roadrunners (Quartzsite's rock club) will have field trips during the PowWow, have been on just one of those so far. Jean

Jim, just to save you from yourself and using up all your propane ;-) plus because I haven't come up with anything to bring I can bring baked beans. I have to see how I'd keep them warm but I'm sure we could figure it out.
Jean, I don't think there is a trip planned for the day of the BBQ, guess I figured people would want to have some time to browse around Pow Wow. If people want to go to Brenda I'm sure we could get something going that week. And, DON'T FALL OFF THE TRUCK!

Okay, Diane, I promise not to fall off the truck again, lol!
No field trip on the day of the BBQ works for me. That way, I can prepare the casseroles (one of each!) the day of the BBQ, and not do them in advance and have to store them in my tiny fridge or freezer and heat them up later.
I'd be up for a trip to Brenda (or anywhere else) during the week. IDK, maybe Brenda on Thursday? (Yeah, 'cause I don't already have enough material from Brenda.) We'll probably go to the PowWow on the first day, Wednesday, buy some raffle tickets early, and walk around a bit. If you see this whilst you are walking around, stop and say hi! No longer have Miss Spunky, but Lucy likes the wagon just fine, too.

Is the trip to the Planet Mine on the 24th? If so count me in. I'll abandon the wife for a day for the chance to hound some chrysocolla.

There is a trip planned for the day of the potluck. We're going to Planet Mine near Bouse, AZ for Chrysocolla. We plan to be back for the potluck. We want to do it all. We live on the edge! We're planning on meeting at Tony's booth at 9am Fri so we can get there & back in time for the festivities. Lynn

I have a 70 gallon propane tank, I am not going to run out of propane any time soon. I will be moving to the long term BLM so I do not have to hitch up and move every two weeks so I will be closer to town although I am only about two miles from town now. Uh, waa waa now again I do not know what to take. Shucks and dog-gon-it. Jim

Well we'll miss the BBQ but I'll be going on the collecting trip. Amber will hang with Tony and sell his rocks.

Whoops, the potluck is on Sat, not Fri. There are rockhounding trips on both days. See the first post in this thread. It mentions the BBQ & the Sat trip. I'm organizing the Fri trip to Planet Mine. Lynn

BUT, I think maybe Thursday - or even earlier in the week? - would be better. Let me know what you think.
Any other takers? Hopefully, we won't be having to keep an eye on the skies like last year. For rain, James, not aliens!
Tonyterner , it'll be good to see you again!
