rockpowell got tired of fracturing rocks to see what was in them so bought a new saw: We had to cut off the European style plug and put on an American 15 amp Daniel Woodhead.

I always find boulders that I like. Have a hand cart and a ramp and just load them in the truck, Sledging them fractures them and ruins the best cuts I have found, need to make them fit in my 14" lortone. Have thought of getting a generator to run it out in the field. A gas one cost over 1300.00 or a good used one 7 to 8 hundred on ebay if you can get the bid. Will post my first cutting of it when I can find my rocks, Still have a lot of snow here.

What is the amperage of that saw? You can buy a new generator that will run 110 or 220 at 15 to 20 amps for $400 to $500 around here. You can probably do better than that at Home Depot, Lowes and Harbor Freight which we do not have around here. Jim

2400-watt/ 15-amp hi-torque motor Easy to use and maintenance free I downloaded their "Use and Care Manual" which turned out to be just a two page part list and diagram. I'm not the greatest with math but how do they get a 2400 watt, 15 amp motor? even at optimum 120v = 1800 Watt. The only way to get 2400 is to figure the startup wattage which would require a 20 amp breaker. Lee #1

"Evolution's" math from somewhere in Europe. All I know is you have to have a good grip on it when you pull the trigger or it will put you on your butt! rockpowell 's rocks are all under snow so we haven't tried it on any yet.

Looks to me like it comes with a standard 20 amp plug; one blade crosswise to the other. That's what the specs. says.

Looks to me like it comes with a standard 20 amp plug; one blade crosswise to the other. That's what the specs. says. Depends on what you call standard. The one in the red rectangle below identified as 15 amp is on over 90% of all 20 amp circuits across the US. Then they tried to use the so called "T" rated outlet. The 90 o turned blade is what they are presently trying to foist on the public. The nameplate on the saw says: Price wise it is way below anything like it.
