miander said she would like to see my photo setup. Here it is. The big thing in the back is the softbox with one big daylight bulb in it. The other two smaller lamps also have daylight bulbs. The entire setup takes up a little less than 3 feet by 3 feet. I can raise or lower the softbox, and I put filters (frosty paper) on the two smaller lamps. The softbox came with a velcro filter which I leave on. The item in the back, about the center of the photo, is a light panel. The entire panel gives the same amount of light. This is good for transparent items. IMG_0611 by Pat6489, on Flickr This second photo is a closeup so you can see the suspended big filter. It is always there, but I can change its position by adjusting the string. String is attached to ceiling hooks, and on hooks on the wooden frame. The filter needs to be taut so it does not create shadows in the photo. Clipped onto the softbox is is an opaque black poster board. I cut the bottom off to allow some light for gradient shots. At the corner of the table is a shiny silver card I use for reflecting light when shooting shots of metal. Makes a difference. On the right front of the table is dental wax I use to prop up various pieces. It is translucent white, but still shows up in photos unless I am very careful. I also use a makeup brush to brush away dust, Windex and rag to wipe away finger prints. I use shiny black acrylic for some photos. It's a nifty little studio about five feet from my computer. @georgestonestore This is what I have: www.adorama.com/FPSSBK.html, plus I bought two side lamps. Side bulbs are pigtailed Greenlites 12 volts, 5000k. The lamp shade is matte silver inside. Softbox bulb is Flashpoint SoftBox, 70 watt Fluorescent Light Unit with Built in 19.5x27.5" Silver Soft Box, with AC Plug and Spiral Fluorescent 5500K Bulb (translates into 350watt) Bundle - with Flashpoint tall Light Stand. Bulb is a very big pigtail.

Good configuration. I also wanted 5000-5500K bulb, but unfortunately I could not purchase power 23W. So I have 6500K. It's a bit "cold" light but still adequate. The ideal value of 5000 - 6500K between

jamesp what material do you use on your greenhouse that the wind and weather doesn't rip and shatter? Dave, that is usually 5 year plastic and is three 2 mil layers laminated. Radiation, strength and drip proof each i think. That quonset structure is rated to 140 MPH with plastic. The house is built to 92 or 96 feet long to accommodate the 100 foot standard length plastic. It is a standard green industry plastic. That one was 100 X 40 and cost about $200. I use 1 year 4 mil for short crops. Almost 1/2 as expensive. It can be 20F and very windy. Inside easily 75F on a sunny day. The tumblers never freeze and the rocks never get leaf litter in them. A 20' X 40" would do real well my rock stuff.

James, how well does it hold up under a ton of ice?

James, how well does it hold up under a ton of ice? Because of the design, surprisingly well. The angle is such that the ice slips off close to the edge. I forgot one year and left the shade cloth on. The snow stuck on it full width and it crushed it. So live and learn....

That way they will sell more. dang it man. Best to use pipes galvanized for the purpose. Those houses are cheap. This was 2 weeks ago w/four inches of snow.

I wonder if I could take that apart, tie it down on my travel trailer then set it up at my next location with my travel trailer and Pat's photo setup inside? Jim

I am still three miles south of Quartzsite. I have been keeping Tony company but he is leaving tomorrow or the next day so I may roll up to Lake Havashoe (sp). I have dried out like a grape down here. Jim
