I am going to try to keep as much whining as possible out of this report but the ups and downs lately have been like a whores (this could be male or female) drawers at a weenie roast.
Quartzsite the rock and gem show was a hoot from start to finish as many of you know. I arrived early and am staying late. On the up side the weather has been awesome. Very windy and dusty today but only the second day of high wind since I got here on the 4th of January.
The pickup has performed wonderfully here on the propane with one hounding trip, two trips to Blyth, one trip to Parker and 30 or 40 trips to town.
I found some new jamesp and me shoes that beat jamesp's by a mile.

I moved to the BLM pay area so I would not have to move every two weeks and I am very happy with the location. The view is ? splendid (I think that is what it is called) and the flora is way different from what I am used to so that is way cool.
The view out my door.

The view in my door. I have been working little by little, day by day cleaning my house with 409 cleaner and paper towels. There is actually a shine under all the years of built up crud. I have probably completed one third or more.

I had to do some adjusting of the cabinet door so I could install my microwave in a cabinet and it is sure nice to have my little counter space back.

I bought a new refrigerator that only works on electric thinking that my new battery and inverter would power it while my generator is not running. 8.7 amp inverter and a 1.? amp refrigerator BUT the inverter does not have the nuts to start the refrigerator. SOOOOO at this time I am making ice while the generator is running and the ice is keeping the frig cool when it is not running. I have a couple of options and both are expensive but I will get er done somehow. I set it up in the man cave part of my house (man caves need a refrigerator right) and I am using the installed frig for a storage cabinet. Awesome storage.

The rest of my man cave is all set up and I have used the drill press (for making rings) and trim saw. The inverter will only run the drill press on low speed so I have to use the generator for that also. I am sure the cab machine will not run on the inverter so I have not tried.

This is my brand new water heater that does not work so I am heating water on the stove and doing bucket baths. WooHoo, what a treat that is.

Yesterday I was filling my teakettle to heat water and something was not smelling very good. I could not figure it out for a while but then I put my nose close to the water and almost threw up from the rotten egg smell. Turns out that when I cleaned the antifreeze out of the water tank I did not get it clean enough or I put bad water in. Now I am going to have to go through the whole cleaning process again with some special tank cleaner. I boiled the water for ten minutes with vinegar in it and did my bucket bath anyway. I have added the tank cleaner and tomorrow I will go fill the tank, drive a bit, drain the tank, fill the tank, drive again, drain the tank, then fill the tank again. Jeeze this learning curve is long.
But, on the up side again I have some killer slabs because Tony went hounding and I commandeered his big saw. I have had this very large hunk of wampidy sunrise for 3 or 4 years but did not have a saw big enough to cut it. Here it is in all it's glory. Damn, I love this stuff.

All in all it has been a great trip and a huge learning experience. I plan to be back next year but I will come earlier and hopefully have more of my ducks lined up in a row. Well, at least have my ducks.
