Re shiny beads: too many shiny beads will detract from your mainly shiny and textured (not shiny) focal piece.
Test this by temporarily putting it with flat matte beads , shiny and various mixtures.
I think it would look good on a stiff cable neck ring, about 2-3 mm wide. Not big.
I thoroughly enjoy watching your WIPs.

just make sure the metal is well annealed. most steel will stand up pretty well to annealed silver or copper.

Oh, one more point about something you said earlier. A rolling mill you have not used? Too sad!

Oh, one more point about something you said earlier. A rolling mill you have not used? Too sad! The rolling mill was a gift from a wonderful friend at a time when I had no clue what to do with it. I've had it a few years and have never even unpacked it. Not to worry, Daniel, I fully intend to make use of it, but I only have so much time in a day. Now that I feel somewhat confident with easy soldering, it may be time to visit the mill.

Thanks, Pat I ordered some biggish 9mm faceted peacock pearls to do a simple linked chain with. I'll know when they get here if they work, but in my mind's eye they do.
