My son picked up this nodule at the rock shop last weekend and intended on tumbling it. I told him I thought it would look better if we cut it in half first then tumbled it but after cutting it I just had to take a slice for a cabochon. No idea on I.D. or location but her it is Thanks for looking Chuck

Exceptionally nice cab. I love the shape and some of the rind. It really fits the stone's inner structure.

Ya never know. That frog sure turned into a prince ! I would say perfect layout but i do not know that you had a choice. lovely cab Chuck.
A lot of the small pebbles from the Rio Grande have anomalies like that.

Good call on cutting it and taking a slab. Tumbling alone probably wouldn't have had the same results. That thing turned out awesome.

Really nice. Yeah I think I'm going to cut any nodules before tumbling from now on, I've ground down too many stones that would have been beauties in half.

I never realized that geodes could make such incredible cabs! Great, another rock to pine for, thanks a lot! Ha ha jk, kind of...it seems like whenever I have a free moment, I either on this board learning about new beautiful rocks, or on EBay trying to find rough or slabs to look at. I thought I was obsessed before!

Very pretty, good choice cabbing instead of tumbling.
