Great use of what is available. One thing to build a machine, but doing it w/bed rails and available cabinet, what nots, stuff on hand raises it a big notch. That's hard to do.

I decided to build my own Faceting/Cabbing machine. Yes, I am a noob, so I will most likely use the wrong terms here and there. I grew up always hearing " Don't buy what you can't afford" . Well I decided a long time ago , if I can't afford something, either buy it broke and fix it or build it from scratch. I only bring that up because I have seen it posted a few times that you should "always" and "only" spend your money on Name Brand items built by a factory. Hi Nvkermit - First off, I love your build. I think I'm going to build something similar now that I just finished my tumbler. I too agree with you about building things from scratch. In my opinion, home built (if you have the ability, is always better than store bought....And to those who say "always" and "only" buy name brand...I say, google "planned obsolescence" and "perceived obsolescence." Unfortunately, these days even you if spend silly stupid $$$ most things are designed to break... I just posted pics of my "Industrial" tumbler that I just built. It'll last at least 100+ years. And, when the motor fries, I can get another one (exactly the same) for $10 at the salvage yard... And, don't you love the feeling you get when you finish the build & it works awesome (You can't buy that feeling)!!! Have fun and show us your work.... Sak....
