Ooooo, nice snake! 4 or 5 years ago I dug out an old rotted gatepost and found a nest of eggs. Unfortunately I broke a few before I spotted them, but put the remainder in a bucket with some soft soil and set it in my workshop. a few weeks later I hatched out 13 or 14 purdy 'lil Rat snakes and released them down by the creek. The neighbors thought I was insane for keeping SNAKE EGGS! (insane)

I haven't seen my barn snake so far this year. It is a big 'ol speckled King snake at least 5 feet long. Last year we had a rabbit make a den under the barn foundation and had 4 cute 'lil rubber butts hopping around. One afternoon I went to the barn and the King was crawling out of the den with a bulging belly. Momma rabbit just raised another brood in the hole and they are pretty good sized already, so guessing my barn snake got ran over on the road or eaten by another critter

It's time to remove the warning labels from things and let stupidity work itself out of the gene pool!
