I have to work my tail off to make pretty stuff just to make a sale. Speaking of cow patties, ya know those funny little mushrooms that grow.........

Yep the electrolysis method works super on rusty gas tanks. My wife is mad scientist using muratic acid to make things rusty Lee. She makes new stuff rust and the turns around and removes it. Target is aged look, patina. We have not breached adding electricity yet. Tried flame painting yet? I have been playing with it a bit with copper, but some of the stuff I have seen done with steel is amazing, I would never guess you could get all those colors. My torches aren't big enough for steel, so far...

Wow. looked up flame painting copper, this is amazing

Looks like you got a big mess of ball bearings with a few ball valves thrown in too. Great score for making silversmith stakes and blacksmith stakes. The blacksmiths will enjoy them for making armor for SCA folks to go around bashing in each others heads in make believe battles and the silversmiths will be making tea pots and ewers. Ball bearings are hard to cut so you need to anneal them by heating to cherry read and then bury in ash over night to cool slowly, then you should be able to cut them with a hacksaw.

Never thought about using them as anvils. Great idea. They seem hard as heck. Will tap on them w/a hammer to see if they dent. Maybe they could be clamped in a 14 inch abrasive cut-off saw. It seems to want to cut anything I put in it. I have cut rail road irons with it while spraying water to keep the material cool and not anneal. With rubber boots-ha.

Out of the tumbler. Tumbled with agate(coral) chips and 40 grit alum oxide. Lots of foam, metals bad about that. Amazing how metals can take different finishes

Time to make a mini cannon! I am concerned that they were some kind of cannon balls catmandewe. ha. Not likely. Not sure what they are. I'm pretty sure some of them were used in a ball mill for pulverizing coal.

Yep, Birmingham AL. is close by and has coal. Some are chrome and very round. Some have 3/8" holes drilled in them. Some are very not round. this guy may have collected an assortment. They are sure heavy.
