Nice, some of it looks almost metallic but that's probably just the light. Love the patterns, kinda reminds me of a septarian nodule.

Hate to say it but the bases out shadow the spheres. All of the bases you post are awesome.

I agree with jamesp. That first base... wow! They are all amazing tho Yeah, that first one is not typical. Unusual coloring of the crystal with the metallic look. The 3rd pic is the same sphere as the 4th pic...just opposite sides. It's a combination of the two kinds of ironstone/concretion I find. The one kind doesn't typically have the lightning patterns but has tube-like things in it and sometimes fossil material. I tend to like them.

The spheres themselves are gorgeous, but the whole display goes even beyond!

How big are these? I can see a light switch in the background but there is distance between them throwing off the perspective. If these are as big as I'm thinking they are, then these are amazing finds. Great job with the polish too, that shine!

These ones range in size from about an inch in diameter (the 1st pic one) up to about 2.25 inch (the 3rd/4th pic one). Most I can generally hope for are in this range, although I have a couple really large ones I'd need a larger saw to cut. One is 13 pounds and loaded...the other I just dug up tonight...haven't weighed it but it's gotta be 20+ pounds.

Ok...I weighed the large one...I was way off! It's only a little over 13 pounds...but huge non the less. My age must be playing a factor on my weight estimates when carrying these damn things...

I like the way you do a cut away and leave the original coating on the base(cobbles?) It shows the internal beauty but also as it is in nature on the exposed side at the same time hollowed to support a sphere. the ones that have a whole 'thunder egg' pattern are my favorite.

They demand respect, that's for sure. You are fortunate to be able to collect and kraft such a nice stone.
