Was looking through the archives recently, looking for cat pics, came across a few more dog ones. Thought I'd resurrect this thread, and add a few more of my (late) dogs.
Minnie, circa 1985. Got her as a pup for my 18th birthday.
Had a "beware of dog" sign on the gate, but she was a sweetheart.
Timka, a female Rhodesian Ridgeback / Rottweiler mix, around 1993
Not yet full grown. For being only half Ridgeback, she had a better ridge than some full RRs.
She only lived a couple years, had to put her to sleep because of a congenital liver problem.
Spunky in yard, doing what Spunky did a lot - rolling in the dirt!
Three hot desert dogs, sunbathing. Lucy, Cali (sister-in-law's dog) and Cricket. Cali sometimes got to go with us. Lucy and Cali are still around, others have gone over the rainbow bridge, to that great dog park in the sky. All desert shots are at Ocotillo Wells.
Lucy doing cockroach impersonation, and Cricket with her ears flying in the wind.
Lucy, hot dog in desert
This dog will lay anywhere, she's not fussy.
I have tons of pics like this!
Ah, found some shade! It's soft, who cares if it's downhill?
Something about pit bulls, they just love to lay in the sun!
That's it for now. Maybe y'all can add a few more? Jean

My beautiful Wife posing with our two dogs on the last day of school... Bear is a pit/lab cross we adopted from the pound three years ago. He's going to be 9 this year. Peetie is a jack russell mix that also came from the pound. She's 12, and we thought we'd make her last few minutes easy, but she's surprised us and is planning to live to be a hundred!

My hot dog! My Rusty Girl! First 2 are desert shots. One at Kilbourne Hole, the other at Aden Crater in NM. The last one is her doing her best "Game of Thrones" impression. She is the watcher on the drainage ditch wall, no lizard shall escape her! We think she might be a coy-dog. She was abandoned on our property, vet said she was about 3 months when we got her and had already been hanging around for a month. Tomorrow we celebrate her 1 year birthday! (Know she was born early-July and we are a military family...figured it was the best day!) camera 811 by kradzyniak89, on Flickr camera 582 by kradzyniak89, on Flickr camera 845 by kradzyniak89, on Flickr

Awesome story, Floyd! How many people can say their dog saved their life? Hope he's around for a long time.
Rich, thanks for resizing the link, easier to notice now.

my best bud... my blue merle aussie picasso...he is a total water nut....always in the lake...if i happen to get in the boat without him he nuts up...i mean he pitches a total fit..only time he ever acts up. when the neighbors kids are in the lake and he goes to play with them...i have to put little socks on him because he likes to get behind them and put his paws on their shoulders and just hang out and let them drag him around.....and if its pulled behind the boat he wants on it...he will ride. funniest thing was watching him try to climb up on 2 skis...that didnt work out to well...try to get on 1 then the other...back and forth...i laughed my ass off...he finally got tired and gave up and swam back to the boat ...tubes are a different story anyway...as any aussie must be...he is well trained...worked hard mentally and physically....kev.
