iant. Thanks for sharing those beauties. The stones are gorgeous, the polish is fantastic and the photography you did is outstanding. I need to work on my photography. Your photos really exhibit the true beauty of the stones you polished.

I can't think of anything original to say because "Wow!" has already been said. Number 20 is amazing, but so are all the rocks with eyes.

Ian, every time I look at one of your agate posts I'm amazed at the exceptional colors and quality of stones. Like others have said, the eyes are great. I especially like the pink eye #21. You have one heck of a place to rock hound.

Hi Ian,some really nice tumbles, are you using cerium or tin oxide to polish? I would love to know the size of your rocks, from what I know about Scottish agate, these tumble stones will be quite small;-I often find the smaller ones are fracture free, and equally as beautiful as there larger cousins, and without nasty fractures running through them.Having said that, there are a number of ways of eliminating fractures, and would point you towards the book."Scottish agates",by Nick Crawford & David Anderson,to my mind it's simply the best book ever written by anyone about the little beauties. All the best, regards,John.

All the best, regards,John. Hi John, Thanks for your comments! I am using Aluminium Oxide - part of a Lortone kit I bought. However, I have used Cerium Oxide in the past and will revert back to using it when my Lortone tub runs out soon. I don't find much difference between the two in terms of finish achieved. Alot of the "eyes" pebbles are small - between 1.5 and 3 cm. The first in this thread is about 10 cm, as is the large brown agate. As you say, the smaller the rock the less likely it is to be fractured. I have that Scottish Agate book and agree, it is excellent. The last couple of months posts I meant to photograph with a coin for scale but forgot. I have another batch in polish at the moment and will try to do that when I get time to photograph them. Ian
