Hi, deb193redux Can you please show me the forum ruler which say I am not allowed to selling here? I think I have published my thread at the right lounge "The Buy Sell and Swap Shop for Members"?
And for moderators, please delete my thread if it violating the forum ruler.
Thanks!

forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/14393/guidelinesRead line 6. It is an unwritten law on this forum that new members have at least 50 posts before trying to sell. This isn't meant to discourage new members who may have something to sell. It just gives us time to get to know you before buying from you. Welcome aboard, but please talk to us. Get to know us. And give us a chance to get to know you before trying to sell.

Understand, Cheapagate, that most of us do not buy commercially, although there are some members here that are in the business of buying/selling material, and we, as a general rule, do not easily buy from people we do not know.
We ask that people come spend time here and get to know us first before offering anything for sale. On the same token, we do not sell easily to new people too, unless, whether buying or selling, they are willing to put up their material or money first.
Think of it this way.....
Would you be willing to ship me 1 ton of your Sumatran Agate right now with no money down, and hope that I like the material and that I will pay you afterwards?.......... Probably not, and you should not. You don't know me from Adam!
We, as members in this forum, are looking to build a community of like minded people who enjoy buying, selling, & working with stone, coral, glass... different materials to create our items, and are very wary of new people who pop in only to sell.
We have had issues with some of these people before and now prefer people to come in and get to know us first before offering to sell or buy unless they are willing to ship material or money first and take all the risk themselves.
To that end we prefer to see 50 or more posts from our new members before they start offering items on here. We want them to be an active participant of the forum and contribute to the general knowledge base of information we have here of different materials and materials from different places so that we can grow as a whole, and not be a dumping ground for anybody just looking to unload some material and get there money or even worse get the money and run without any material getting shipped to the buyer.
As I said, it is an unwritten rule, but a rule that we as members try to adhere to.
No offense is intended, it's just the we way we are here.
Other than that I went to your site and you have some very nice looking agate on there, but as I said before we like to get to know the people we deal with on here first, and then buy/sell with them second.
Welcome to the forum, hope you understand & hope to see you on here more so people can get to know you and you can do some business here.

Your price point may be a bit high for this material too, especially buying when sight unseen from an unknown seller. When I've seen the rough at shows recently here in the US, it seems to be running $10-$15 per pound. That converts to $22-$33 per kilogram and one gets to have the material in hand to judge quality, color and how suited it is for ones use. The Gem Shop, a good but not inexpensive seller, charges $10 per pound. And one avoids the shipping costs from your part of the world to here which are not cheap and increase the costs to way more than $30-$40 per kilo.
For example: I can buy 20# of fossil coral from the Gem Shop here in the US for $200 and they will pick out sizes, at my request, that will fit my saw.. I can get that 20 pounds shipped to my door for about $12. Total cost to me is about $10.60 per pound or $23.32 per kilo which is considerably below your price point without even considering the high shipping costs...Mel

Sorry, I meant the price is between $4-$30 per kilogram (depending the quantity of the order). And yes I have done some research first before arranging the price.

your post says you lived in Sumatra, are you in the states now? is the material still in Sumatra? if you and the material is in the states you could send a chunk to someone first to slice up, take pics, post, and describe how hard, does it polish up nice, are there too many fractures etc.

Ah, that makes a bit more sense. Thought maybe you had dropped the zero by accident and meant 30-40 per KG. In that case, since you seem to have varying prices due to grade, quantities etc, it would be good to post pics of different grades/colors and how they are determined and how your quantity prices work. Also good to know approximate shipping cost per pound so buyers have a good idea of final cost of material delivered to buyer and make an informed decision.
Also, is your coral heat treated. Much of the more colorful and desirable material we see here is heat treated to bring out stronger, oranges, pinks, reds and sometimes purple tones......Mel

Leave it, join us in conversation, teach us about Indonesian Corals, show us lot's of pictures, become friendly and we will be more open to buying from you. We are all friendly here and welcome new folks with knowledge and stories to share. Thanks for your polite reply to the responses in this thread.

If you, cheapagate, are willing to enlighten us about your product, it would go a long ways towards us getting to know about you & your materials. From there you might want to join in some of the other discussions/threads we have going.... Tumbling, slabs, areas where your product might really shine. My motto is "You can't teach if you refuse to learn" is especially true of this situation.

Here pics after slice up and polished of my agatized fossil coral ( the polished of agatized fossil coral taken from the pic no 1 of my thread here). I think the hardness is about 6.5-7 Mohs since this kind of stone included in Agate family.

I think I would do your input after I have had hundreds of posts in this forum and sharing more my experiences about Sumatra agates. Honestly I am just selling the rough of agatized fossil coral and I have costumers at domestic market which buy my stones constantly. From now on I just want to enjoy learning everything in this forum just like The Dad_Ohs said "Exactly!!!!...... Send a few samples and/or sell some small portions. I think you will find willing customers over time. Photos too. There are some coral lovers here.

How do you ship the material? What are the smallest size shipments you will do?
