Nice & shiny The first of your "favorites" pictures. What is that stuff? Looks like Van Gogh painted them!

so much red, and what a shine! I like the swirly favorites the best too, but that red plume one is pretty good as well... deep! So much for those who say never to polish an agate.

Rich This one came from a Minnesota seller in a batch of Lake Superior agates, so I assume that it's a definite possibility that it's ME, here is what it looked like before I polished it: Since I haven't seen another one quite like it - if the experts say it ME that's what I'll go with now that it's polished.

I'm no expert, but my guess is that it's ME. Nice material. I've never tumbled it because I was concerned about undercutting, but yours came out nice.

Thinking about it being Mary Ellen jasper, since it came from Lake superior /Minnesota, and that stuff taken from Superior is mostly glacial transports from Canada, it surely is possible that some MaryEllen got dragged down with the glaciers in pieces. I have found some similar stuff recently here and I know everything we have is from glaciers except the Devonian era fossils... just saying... it "could" be....

That's what I thought they were as well. Did that penguin intentionally slap his buddy in the back of the head ? That's just plain cold blooded. Must have been sneaking around w/his mate.
