cool photos of some great looking pups. I had to dig back a few years for this photo from when mine was a pup. He must of figured it was safe to jump in since it was frozen. Labs love sticks so he jumped in to get something good to chew on. Chuck

I just LOVE puppy grunts and puppy breath!!! BUT I don't love cleaning up after the little boogers. Glad my big girl (American Bulldog)is pushing 8 years old and prefers her bed to tearing things up.
Kudoes to your wife on getting 5 of them to all look the same direction. That is no small feat!

How long do they burn? Good to see they all have their own color collars already. Don't wanna get yellow mixed up up with blue. Isn't this late for you to have puppies? Don't you usually have them in spring?

nice photos as usual. I like all them photos your wife has jamesp on facebook of the dogs.
That lab dog chewing the stick reminds me of my last dog. She was a lab with beagle mix though. Best dog ever. Miss that olde girl.

Don't you usually have them in spring? When they come in season, except during plant season. The 6 litter was whelped in New Orleans. She bought them up for wife to 'appraise' and sell. It was a partnership breeding of some sort. The 9 litter was born and whelped here. I can't keep up w/all the arrangements those girls make. They don't tell either. Puppys refreshing to have, never dull moment. They do heavy testing on them including DNA to check for past issues. Really try to avoid potential problems. Dogs pretty solid, great hips and elbows, heart ears eyes cancer history and many other issues. Modern technology helping to breed healthy stock.

technology previously reserved for only cattle and swine. Nice to see the trickledown. I'd love to get Hobo's background tested to see his genetic heritage.

The DNA tests Denise runs tells where the eggs and the sperm comes from in pure bred dogs. Just to trace carriers of past known defects within the breed. i.e. chasing the blood lines. Not aware if there is a DNA test that delineates breeds in mixed bred dog. A friend did one on her mix and it was chaos. No background was found in her attempt. measuring dosing on polyacrylimide to thicken water in tumbler. 1/4 teaspoon has turned 2 cups into a frozen margarita consistency, still hardening though.

Profiles of all AKC and many non-AKC pure breeds were developed at (Stanford?) a California university. I called and tried to license the tech and market it thru/to veterinarians. They already had a license agreement. Licensee did the same thing. You can now go to "most" vets and have them take a little blood, pay the fee ($75??) and send it in for profiling. At least you could 5 years ago. It got a lot of gruff from some crowds. Because this tech is for mixed breed dogs and people do not understand genetics well enough (high school biology curriculum fail!) people got upset when their 20# pupperdog came back half great dane, or their 80# dog was half chihuahua! It turns out small size (think chihuahua and other sub 20# breeds) is a single gene recessive trait. Thus the 80# half chihuahua was bred to an animal that was not small and the mutt in question was "split" (heterozygous really) for the small gene. The great dane issue was more complicated because "giant" size is multi gene with mixed heritability. But there was no failure of the test in these specimens. ============== Great idea trying polyacylamide gel as a "thickener". Love the idea!
