went out yesterday, cloudy and 42 degrees with 10 mph wind. rain and snow predicted all the rest of the week, so got a little beach time while I could First to an 1840 light house, my favorite...
then on to a nearby DNR site. first time I had been here, spent a couple hours wandering.
note giant aged and deteriorating serpentine rock on the left corner of this pic.
no lack of material to peruse
picked up a few, not fancy collection container dangling from my left arm. This one was a keeper.

Nice pictures. Too bad winter kills the rockhounding over there. Take pictures of the winter though please. I spent some time up north and found out I love cold rural places.

Thanks for posting those pictures. Makes me homesick for the lake. I grew up in Saginaw and spent all my summers at my grandfathers cottage between AuGres and Alabaster. Walking the beach each day with my mom looking for Petoskey stones started all of this for me!

Henry I hope you post lots of photos of your hunts and finds... I'd probably live on that beach if I were closer.
