Washed them off tonight and some of the rough exterior has been vibed off. Added 2 Tbsp of 120/220, 1Tbsp Borax. And 1/4Tbsp of 500 (don't hate it's my tumble I can do what I want to!). ROFL, Jimi! Do you like em'? I have a few,just to say I have some...They are the ugliest agate I have seen! LOL I do like them! Would love to find them even more. They look very reptilian. i sent two five gallon bucket full to tonys a couple years ago for him to sell do know if he has or not if you want some send him a pm |

cut a couple? I wonder if all that texture is only on the surface or if the swirls pattern thin slices. Looks like it would be quite translucent if cut thin. Don't you love that plastic-shiny feel? very interesting thread.

of course the texture is only on the surface. several people have already stated the centers are "plain", and I provided pictures of slices. any talk of "swirls" inside is silly.
the best result is when you can get a smooth shape from a fairly round nodule, but still have a thin white checkerboard on the surface. but here, most of the surface has gone and the nodules are still very irregular. plastic feel aside, they are rather ugly compared to the untumbled.

deb193redux and that's why I didn't tumble the better looking pieces! The shine in person is very nice though. Couldn't capture it in a still pic.
