On private property here(I get to go on)-one of the family members is a contractor and installs granite and marble tops for homes... The waste goes in to a junk pile on their land... My buddy James and I get to pick through it and take what we want....I sent Ed a few pieces,to make his hearts with.. Comes in many colors too.....I always have a bucket full around my shop, and will be getting more..

Some is loaded with sprinkles of garnets or beryl or tourmaline. Or some fairly exotic felspar and quartz. broseph82 brought some granite by that had blue quartz, very striking. Hope you put some in the tumbler.

The granite and rock counter top scraps make beautiful stands for specimens and carvings. Here's my stibnite specimen that I purchased from @rocks2dust. He placed felt on the bottom so it would not scratch a table top. That's my bad with the blue tacky stuff I used to secure the specimen. Looks terrible with the blue.
