@shotgunner gingerkid snowmom Sabre52-you guys know what this is so do not tell !! Mohs 6 Only pre-polished(my vibe does not do well polishing Mohs 6) creates lots of gas in rotary was not rough tumbled gently with filler, so a bit bruised lighter than agate(SG 2.3) very brittle not hematite Done in a Lot-O it should look like a brand new chrome bumper Good luck:

Wow, "it" looks great to have only been pre-polished in a Lot-O. Wait, I didn't know you had a Lot-O, jamesp. ??

Wow, "it" looks great to have only been pre-polished in a Lot-O. Wait, I didn't know you had a Lot-O, jamesp. ?? I meant my Vibrasonic Jan, sorry about that. I do need to send it to a Lot-O or other vibe owner to get the mirror on it. Just started it in polish, maybe the Vibrasonic will get er done. The problem with it is in the sealed rotary. It makes incredible gas pressure. even just a few pieces mixed with agate. And it scratches glass easily so it would be a slow roughing job in the vibe where pressure is not so much an issue. It may be the pockets/cavities and not hydrogen gas production that it is known for when in contact with water. If it did not have those cavities it would be very attractive as a cab. And doable, much much tougher than anthracite coal.

meteorite? what ever it is its cool looking. Chuck Not meteorite, much cheaper and lighter Chuck. Available on Ebay, but very not common. I think it was $15/pound. I got to get you some without bubbles in it for your cab master skills. It may hold a groove, it is brittle like hard glass or rose quartz, maybe a little more spastic than those. if etched it has classic meteorite crystalline lattices like a Gibeon meteorite

Just sawing it shows crystal lattices without etching it

Might go 5th amendment on ya Chuck. It is made intentionally with carefully controlled composition of various percentages of components. and a very large range of metallic elements. Now I am giving it away.

Y'all are getting a Georgia whoopin, ha. I did find it along the railroad tracks. It fell off whilst in transport. Hauled in bulk apparently.
tumbling it was a total experiment. When I released the band clamp off the PVC rotary tumbler it shot the rubber cap thru the plastic cover of my greenhouse. Outside it went over 100 feet in the air. Develops LOTS of gas. Not sure if it is the hydrogen it generates from being in contact with water or trapped high pressure gas in the bubbles.

I tried to do it without cheating but I just did some back peddling through posts and came up with ferr*****con I didnt want to give it away in case it was the answer. That was a lot of reading to get there though.
