Yes I have some for cabbing. Susan found the best because she walked way around the mountain to where it's supposed to have a swirl pattern.

Looking forward to seeing some of those cabs Bill. Such a unique and different stone. Rhyolite comes in so many pattern and colors; this one sure is a stand out.

Next time I go to AZ I am going to have to try to find a chunk big enough to make a sphere out of. Or multiple chunks.

Wooah!! Those are beautiful tumbles, jamesp. Haven't ever seen banded green rhyolite before. orrum, I think Susan may have the magic touch when it comes to finding pretty rocks!

Those shown have about the tightest banding. There is a lot of pattern variety, I believe orrum mentioned swirls. I need to dissect them on the trim saw to see what variations are found.

What's nice is the whole mountain is made of the stuff!!! Beautiful material! Bill, you need to get back there and harvest a few tons to put up for sale. I'd buy 100 pounds. Can't find anything like that rough on eBay, that's for sure.

Those are awesome. I prefer maize and blue over green and white, but they're still really cool.

Yes, I graduated from the University of Michigan. Most of my clothes are those colors. It was a Michigan - Michigan State joke. I didn't expect California folks to get it.
