Scott:Rosy Boas. Stoddard Ridge in the Ord Mountains. When I was in college doing a rodent project we had rodent trap lines going there and while checking them at night, I've never seen more rosy boas in one area before...Mel Yeah, and they look nice there. Plus I can hit verde antique for some jade! The Corn Springs Rosies are exceptionally nice

Without wishing to start an argument, Jack Russels that kill garter snakes should be controlled. Tom No, trust me, I'm with you! I hate it when he gets one, they're harmless and beneficial. Unfortunately, I can't watch him every second and while he gets scolded for killing snakes, the prey drive in this one is just too damn strong. My son and I are constantly moving snakes out of his reach.

Wow, that is a colorful subtype!.....Mel Mel, there is great difficulty classifying species in rosy boas. The old coastal vs desert doesn't work. every single mtn range has Rosie's with a distinct appearance. It's as though there are scores of species. With some study one can see an individual and name the mountain it came from.

Good lord, I'm so glad we don't have poisonous snakes here. My jack russel LIVES to kill the little garters and he'd be dead in an hour in the desert :/ We had two Jack's in our lives-loved them both..Mattie was a snake killer, she loved killing them..Jackie was just a young one, didn't know what to do...LOL
