Two fire pits sold this week, both requested the 42" inch table top that I purchased for $5. Wholesale cost for 42 inch top is $52 as opposed to scrap cost of $5. $52 cheap for this item. Retail price is $140, no balking from customers. And the table top option seemed to enhance interest. Table top had no effect on shipping since it added no volume. This one going to Cold Spring, New York. Costs- $90 for bowl incl shipping to me, 1.5(James) hours labor, pallet and pipe legs about negligible, $101 to ship, table $5 = ~ $200 Gross- $440 for pit, $140 for table, $200 paid by customer for shipping = $780 Profit- $780-$200= $580. Sometimes shipping is a bit over $200, not in this case. Normal production day is 4 pits, about 7-8 hours. Pretty much rest the next day. Freight company is 8 miles away. Fairly lucrative little biz.
