I just got back from a trip to Lake Superior with more unakite than I need. Actually, some is more like epidote or episode. I'd like to trade some of it for tumbling material. I spent three days collection this stuff and froze my butt off, so I'm going to be selective about what I trade for. If I don't get an offer for something I want in trade, then I'll put it up for sale instead. I feel like both parties get a better deal in a trade, so hopefully this works out. I've tumbled a lot of agate, jasper, pet wood, and obsidian, so I don't want that unless it's something unusual. I'd really like to get a box of all the same material, not tumbling mixes or saw scraps. I don't need something expensive, or rare, just something I haven't tumbled before. Good quality wonderstone that will tumble well would be a good trade. Please don't be offended if I turn down your offer. I do have more material, so I can make up at least some more small boxes if I need to. I do want to keep some for myself though, so I'm not trading it all. Here are a few pictures of unakite I've tumbled, sawn or made stuff out of: This was done in just a rotary tumbler, my first try without using a Lot-O. Done in rotary followed by Lot-O. Here's what I have to trade: Sold Box 1 - Small flat rate of tumbling material Sold Box 2 - Small flat rate of tumbling material Sold Box 3 - Medium flat rate box of large tumbling size to fist sized rocks. The biggest rocks should fit in a 10 inch saw and most of the smaller rocks could be slabbed on a trim saw to produce something big enough to make a cab out of. See the rulers for a better idea of size.

Let's see, a medium box of mixed picture jasper? A medium box of Pastelite jasper agate from Wiley Wells in Palo Verde Ca.? A medium box of Chipboard ryolite from Brenda Az.? A medium box of Green Banded Ryolite from Plomosa Rd. Quartzsite Ax.? Any of that sound like a trade Rob? I could mix them up any way you want.

Yep, I think we can work something out. Do you have pictures of any of this material? I think I remember seeing some the green banded ryolite that you sent James. If that's the stuff I'm remembering, it was very cool.

Bill, I found the pictures James posted of the green banded rhyolite you sent him. I'm definitely interested in making a trade. I looked for pictures of the other two rocks you mentioned. I don't think I want any chipboard rhyolite, but I couldn't find consistent pictures of Pastelite jasper agate. Could you link to something that looks like what you have?

I can't do pics Rob. Pm me your cell number and I will text you a pic. It's s pastel blue, gray, pink, peach, Baie just all kinds of colors that are like melted together. It's very solid and cabs and tumbles weLl. As with all good material the fractures and pits are there you just work with it.
Hey Mark sent you a pm pardner!

Good thing I didn't know that Bill had a box of that green banded rhyolite or it would already be residing in Florida!
A box of chipboard? *perk*
Bill, you gotta learn how to post pictures!

The problem Cap'n is that my cell phone uses too much data loading pics to a service. Uses none texting pics. Plus it times out doing pics to photo bucket.

You do all your posting here with a cell phone? Don't even use one of them new fangled laptop thingies? My cell phone doesn't even take pictures or have a screen to receive them and I've never sent a text message in my life. Wouldn't know how! But I can post a picture!

I don't have a computer.
I retired, reduce reuse simplify.
Cell phone can put pics on photo bucket but I refuse to cater to the spam aspect of the thing. I get virtually no junk email.
You want some green banded ryolite Cap'n Bob? Ain't you got some Rios from Mel? I trade for big enough to get a set of knife scales out of. I need slabs that would be 3 x 5 to make fixed blade scales.
