I have quite a bit of pet wood I found over the summer. Mostly tumbler sized pieces. I am starting a batch in just the lot-o right now and may fill up my rotaries with the same kind of material. So here are some pics I've what I have in the Lot-O (only 7 bigger pieces didn't fit). ingredients: ~4lbs pet wood 2Tbs 120/220 1Tbsp borax And wet

Some fun colors there, for sure. Why did you decide to go right to the Lot-O first without a rotary with some 80 or 46-70 first to smooth the rough areas? Was it because they are a little soft? I am sure you know what you are doing better than I do, that's for sure, but I can't learn unless I ask!

I get tired of the rotaries sometimes and want to see what I can do with just the lot-o.

Everything was a thick goo and was at a crawling pace. Decided to pull them all out and do a water bath before I threw them all back in. I can really see the colors and patterns now. Added: 2 Tbs of 120/220 1Tbsp borax I ALSO STARTED 4 barrels of this type of pet wood in my rotaries too.

That stage creates a thick slurry quick enough without it. Even without the borax I add water three times a day in 120/220 to keep the movement correct. Chuck

Added a tiny bit of water and made everything slick and moving quick again. During my day 1 on 120/220 I don't even need to add water. My stuff is fast moving even with borax added (and I stuffed the barrel full).

9/24/2015- Even though the wood had good movement I decided to clean it out (with just water) and add more wood to it. Here's what the batch looked like after rinsing with the hose: Added 1Tbsp borax 2Tbsp 120/220 more Pet Wood Movement is slow and jumpy but it'll get there. I added one of my favorite pieces to the mix (a bigger piece that resembled natural wood. It was black in the water and stood out to me).

Yep. Those sure are looking good. Like the pink colander. Still think you should have rolled them in the rotary.

I even made each barrel a little different just to see which group does better (i.e. One with a smasher(s), ones with mostly flat pieces, little branches etc) I think in a couple days there may be up to 5 pieces that I can take out of the lot-O fracture free. A different one and only one like it that I found
