Again I must tell you just how cool those are. Thanks Tom, they are a quick and easy tumble.

Not to hijack the thread, but I didn't want to see it get buried in time. Here is a carnelian bot that I tumbled which to my eye looks something like James was achieving. From the Rio Puerco of New Mexico.

What is this stuff? I feel worse and worse that I threw some out that I had but I didn't think it would cab or tumble. & at the time no one else seemed to want it either so I had to toss it to make room. We lacked your vision obviously!

We lacked your vision obviously! Tumbling rocks with surface patterns and structures are usually easier than rolling a rock into round submission. A week or two in the rotary and it is time to start finish on these anyway. And these can be popped in your hand with a pencil sized piece of steel in your palm to make desired size. Maybe a lot of rocks are overlooked for surface character peachfront.

Maybe a lot of rocks are overlooked for surface character peachfront. I can see that. About to head out of town but when I'm going to look into this further, esp. since I only do rotary right now.

I thought I would post a couple more of the bots that came out of my tumbler. This one is appealing to me on both sides. And same side without backlight. And other side bots provide special challenge to polish, cut and display. Tom

Nice work Peruano. The bots I get are often fairly thin plates and common. A mass tumble of the results in about 50% coming out great. The others usually a bit over tumbled. They need to be cherry picked as doing the coarse grind. Me just lazy.
