I guess a little bad weather isn't so bad sometimes. I got some wrapping done. Lapis Lace Thulite and green zoisite Good Day chrysocolla Nuummite- which doesn't photograph well, but which has golden and blue fire. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful as always, Tela. I like #2. It's masculine while still having a fineness of detail. Now that I think about it, the spikes kinda look like a beard...
The chrysocolla is stunning. Glad you kept the wrap simple to let the stone take the spotlight.
Nuummite's a new one for me. How does it polish?

Here's some info and better pictures of the flash. I did not cab this one, but I have a slab to work on in the spring. It looks like the slab at the link.

I really admire the work on those prongs on the second one. Very difficult to get them all equal length and symmetrically placed too. The rest are great too of course.

That's some real talent there. Gorgeous wraps. Some of the best I've ever seen. Are you using dead soft or half hard sterling?

Those prongs are amazing, wrap and prong in one fell swoop. Fine work Tela.

I use round soft wire that I twist to the hardness that I want. You lost me with that one. None of the wire on these wraps looks twisted? I guess I am thinking twisted like holding one end in a vise and the other in a drill. Chuck

Chuck I don't use a drill, I use a pinvise. I like to control the amount of twist per wire. In person, you can see a little sparkle from the twist. Because twisting does put a subtle pattern on the wire, I want to do each wire exactly the same. Plus, some wraps need harder or softer wire. For instance, I like to do real tight prongs. If the wire is too hard, it could snap.

I have only done the twist with the drill one time and it was for a groove wrap so only one wire to worry about. Need to add a pin vise to my ever growing shopping list. Chuck

Chuck When you get one, get one that has a chuck at each end that can be removed. That way you can hold and/or twist a wire at any point in the length of the wire.

Chuck Here's a link that has a good picture of one. Each end comes off. You can take one end off and run the wire through the middle to hold it in the other end.

Chuck Pixel peep into the thulite/zoisite wrap. The twists are quite tight actually. Clever Tela. You amaze me every day.
