I'm guessing that "wait and see mode" has quite a bit to do with your having been on this forum for less than a week. What I would consider a good order of your rocks would amount to a fair chunk of change, to a (no offense) unknown person. As I wrote awhile back, once you have some completed sales with happy buyers you may be spending more time at the post office than you care to! so how long have some of you been a member? Do you find enough resources within these walls so buying and selling stays within this group? Did that make sense? I should've added the key word "convience"

Hi footsteps (sorry don't know your real first name yet ;-) the easiest way for you I think is to go to your tumbler picture. Click it to load it into window by itself. Then right click on it and select "copy image address" Then going back into your RTH post, click on the picture icon to insert image. Then right click on "Image IRL" box and select the paste option (or use Cntl+V method). Then you should be good to go. It is always good to preview your post before you publish you can check out the code used for this picture if you do a "quote reply". Hope this helps. - Mark I'm sorry I meant to tell you I'm Wendy

I should've added the key word "convience" Hi Wendy, nice to have a name to put with your posts! You can click on any person's ID here and it will show when they joined the forum. 2007 for me. I would think that most of us also buy from sources off the forum. That is if not lucky enough to be where we can sate our rock desires or needs by self collecting. Being in Florida, I pretty much have to buy online along with at rock shows. There is really not that much selling here in relation to the tonnage of rocks owned by forum members. I certainly wish there were more, but there are many other venues available. My thinking regarding the lack of sales here is that this is due to a seller can probably make more by selling elsewhere. This place becomes like a family after you've been here awhile. When one sells anything, the price to family is usually less than you would ask for from Joe off the street. Truthfully, there may be almost be as much material given at no cost - or traded - here as what is sold. I'm completely serious here. This is an extremely generous group of people I can say with 100% certainty that in my 8+ years here, I have never sold anything (I usually trade*) here for as high an amount as I could have sold for elsewhere. *I usually trade as I am reluctant to sell for what I believe it could bring elsewhere. (trades don't always work out for the best either - but c'est la vie. Part of being family!) I mentioned before about selling as a new comer here. I'm actually rather amazed that more haven't called you out for this. Anyone that has been around for awhile has seen new folks jumped all over or scorned for "joining to sell". This really doesn't bother me as much as it seems to others, but I'm a buyer. I appreciate new sources. I also wait until I can see a trustworthy sales record established. IF I buy some of these Montana agates from you, it would probably be higher quality material in quantity. Looks like you and Steve have a sufficient inventory of rocks! I can wait. I hope this answered your question. Again, welcome to the forum Wendy.

Wendy, I'm also a little surprised that people hadn't earlier pointed out the custom of participating for a certain amount of time before attempting to sell. But to your credit, you have been nothing but enthusiastic, communicative, friendly, and willing to take feedback. You also have nice rocks, and nice photos.

I originally gonna this site roughly a yr ago hoping I'd find someone who could help me identify the bazillion rocks I've collected. Tried to upload pictures but couldn't so out of frustration I left. Just recently i came across your site again, clicked on and while scrolling down the list of groups I saw this group. Just so happens I was on the internet looking up "Montana jewelers", Montana agate buyers etc. I like this site, people seem to be friendly and extremely helpful. I understand why there may be some doubt as to my intentions etc and I want yall to know our intentions are golden. Once you see what was purchased we hope some (if not all) of that doubt will wash away. We know it's impossible to please everyone but we're sure going to try. keep "rockn"

You can definitely see the connection, bond between most of you. It's important to have trust amongst one another, trust builds relationships. I feel as though we've got something to share, something that is a worth sharing and for whatever reason was made available at a time when it seemed to be unavailable. Myself, I'm glad I found this site again, I get to talk rocks 24/7 with some pretty cool people plus give yall a glimpse of what we collect. Hopefully you'll like what you see... Have a super evening

It pays to be cautious. As to the OP: stay a while and share some knowledge and pictures of other things besides your sales. It'll help.

It pays to be cautious. As to the OP: stay a while and share some knowledge and pictures of other things besides your sales. It'll help. advice taken. I will post random pictures more often. And as far as people getting burned, that totally sucks. As a matter of fact I know someone who bought a few Montana's on eBay about a month ago... Total burn! The stones he received would have never made it into his bag and it certainly wouldn't have been available for sale. It's hard to explain and until you actually see what Steve has been collecting over the yrs it's insane. He's got a picky eye, collects the best and for many yrs sold to Harmons Agates. That should give you an idea of what we've got.
