glued a specimen slab to the inside of glass for back-lit display purposes? Any pictures of how it turned out?
What kind of glue did you use or would you recommend that won't turn yellow.

Sounds a lot like capping doublets or triplets except that cleaning up the glue from around the edges of the stone may be tricky. I use the 330 epoxy and it works well and has never yellowed in typical jewelry applications, but with a display that will see many times more hours of exposure to light I would want to use a good UV resistant plate glass. www.ebay.com/itm/like/331386693102?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82

I've heard of it being done. On another forum we had a lady member who attached slabs to the outside of a plexiglass backing, spackled between the slabs and used it as the back splash in her kitchen. The whole works was backlit. Last I heard, she was doing the same in her bathroom. Unfortunately that forum no longer exists, or I'd post links for you to see her work.

Thanks Lee - I have some 330 on hand. I've noticed it seems to turn somewhat opaque over time if I've used it to fill in a void in a rock. I'll do some testing with it.

I used an pourable epoxy for a project not yet finished. The consistency was like water. The color, like water. 4 years later, still clear.
When i get home ill look for a name on my bottle. It would be perfect for your "doublet" display slab project.

Tommy what do you have in mind? Hi Pat - it's Eva's project - she wants to display The Germans in a deep photo frame with some built in back lighting. Not sure how it's going to come together just yet. The problem is the two slabs are different thickness - the one on the left is an end-cut and thicker than the other, and I don't really want to mess around with trying to make it thinner. I can't risk breaking it. I had the idea of gluing the front of the slabs to the glass to keep them from sliding around.
