@shotgunner 80% contact me thru Etsy to ask if they can pick up to avoid shipping. That seems to be the priority. That way they can shop them. Size them. Pick style and height. Many have me customize and then I deliver as that service is offered. Good photos makes a big impact. Am preparing some backdrops for better photos at the farm. My photos are defunct due to design changes that sell best. Must wait till spring when this place greens up.
Most of these customers are specification motivated and above average incomers. Sales pitches are amazingly moot with these folks. My experience has shown that realistic photos with objects like chairs or dogs to scale size means a lot. They know they want a fire pit. They are already focused on that point and have made up their mind. Always keep one of every design in the 'show' area. Many custom designs to stimulate. They are told about the wide selection before they come.
Out of state customers not much different. Focus is size, style, height and sometimes shipping costs. I stay drab on the sales pitch. Have done jazzy ads in the past and it always seems to be extra verbiage to them. Best selling pit was one with a photo of a dog sitting in it, hands down and continually. And Etsy statistics are overwhelming on that model with that photo in likes, sales, views and treasury features.
Etsy statistics very telling. Visitors feedback even more telling.
