LOL Intheswamp. That is a bad location. Pits come in 24-30-36-42-48. Tires of various sizes should fit deLIGHTfully in each one of them. And then mold rubber figurines at the drain hole below the pit. Participants at the pit should be soot black. The rocket attachment may efficiently burn them too. Like the idea of molding vulcanized figurines. Burning tires a felony in California. |

Oh, and the "soot black" comment... That could prep the users for going into peoples backyards and garages on "appropriation runs". I can see a niche market forming here.... Do you remember the mosquito trucks spraying that sweet smelling (DDT ?). We used to follow the smoke on our bicycles as kids. Brains probably pickled. |

We had one out here. In the desert. Giant mountain of tires. Burned bottom up. Fire could not be suppressed.
Law passed.
Because laws stop fires.

I believe in was up in the northeast (big scrap tire problem around those dense population centers) where a large, tall office building was being built. There were going *several* stories below ground and the excavation and layout had been made. Returning on a Monday the construction crew found the hole filled with thousands and thousands of scrap tires...thankfully nobody set them on fire. Scrap tires and st dumps...big problems... As for putting a scrap tire fire out...good luck. Containment is about the only option. Attempting to extinguish with foam/water adds to the problem with polluted water/flotsam. Tire fires...not good.  |

Reading about tires on Wiki. Incredible. I remember statistics quoted when Atlanta had their big tire fire.
Tire a serious problem. No real use for them.

I go against Pete in a pickup and Chuck in a truck all day long. At cut rate prices, they won't be in business long. 4-5 small biz out of biz within first 5 years. In this case when the profits don't make it interesting he will lose his excitement and move along. Going downtown to 4th Ward street art show today. Going to meet my much more professional competitor S+S Fire Pits. Will discuss the price buster competitor w/him. Price buster guy is mimicking S+S unusual art pits exactly. Blatantly. undercutting price bad Guessing S+S wants to choke him. Had mixed thought about making ally w/S+S for a while till this guy came along. My stuff and S+S stuff very different. May ask if he wants to share links to each other or at least break ice on such. Thoughts ?? S+S guys are carny's and hit every art show. Travel like crazy/party like crazy. Younger wild bucks. Just 15 miles away from my farm. In biz for a few years. Even got a store there in a so so hood. Out sell me probably, but hard workers and have employees/more overhead. I respect them. PS S+S has a map ad. (Powerful website. Big on social media.) Like from a google search. How do I get one of these map ads and how much is monthly cost ? I do not want 'too much' business though. No more than double my present rate. $100,000 net = 250 fire pits is more than I want. (aside from commission jobs) I like people picking up, easiest on me. |

When you band up with someone a bit of your independence sluices off. If needed for survival, then so be it. Note Brexit. I sense that you are talking about a friendly relationship where both parties speak well of the other in a healthy fashion. I had a retail competitor across town from me back when we were both retailing and wholesaling (before Goodyear stabbed us in the back), he would come for a tire and we would hand him the key to one of the warehouses and tell him what section the tires were in that he wanted...our customers were amazed. Good relationship, though....still good friends. You're looking at it right in regards to overhead...and it consists of more than just monetary expenses...time, wear on body, mind, and equipment, etc., etc.,. I'd definitely strike up a healthy relationship/friendship with S&S...nothing wrong with that and it seems ya'll have a common adversary! Something else to think about, maybe, is that we ain't getting no younger (well, you might be, but me...), anyhow, having a good relationship with S&S might be a good way to create a built-in buyer when you decide to travel the country as the full time cup-holder for Lenny Man On the Side. Make everything old one man ergo as possible at whatever cost. Will meet the guys and be friendly. No need for adversarial relationship. Lest they want one. My wife does have is stuff frozen in ship-able vessels. Lenny may have gotten rejected for a breeding due to his ill performance . Wife frustrated w/him. It's a comical subject in the house. Seems having a parallel competitor in a small town would keep one on edge. Big city is safer, harder to keep up w/who is doing what. Competitors lost in the shear numbers. Nothing gets looked over in a small town. |

4th ward Art Show Atlanta. No one bought much, too hot. Met my fire pit competitors. Great guys and had a blast. No trees, bad spot 102F  Art tents wrap around pond  Hung out in the tent w/my buddy Cheri. Holding Honorable Mention for her leather works. She landscapes, can work you into the dirt.  |
