non gas unit 36 w/cover" is 375 and 140 and you pay freight Did I read that right? 36" pit = 375 cover = 140 so $515 (plus freight) and the same with propane burner added is 485 more? (plus freight) Still wanna see it working / flame height! Get on that would ya  ETA: please fix the first post of this thread. Tired of seeing blank space. Needs puppy in pit picture or something! Your onto something with gas hookups, they seem to be a big thing here I cant say there. Most new homes have a line setup outside for BBQ's or fire pits. They were doing fantastic sales in designer pits until the change in govt killed us off Same idea your using with bowls and material, we had built into our outdoor off ice rest area last summer. This fire bowl runs from natural gas line with added lava rocks, on a pressure regulator and electric push button igniter, with a 20 min timer. Only used it last winter for "supervised occasions" until we get our engraved designed topper coming this fall to be installed, less chance of someone falling in and it does throw off some good heat, plus "Not cheap for material and labor"    the snow w/a pit is a trip. It is at a rest area ? What did the dang govt do ?? Yes spirit, gas very popular here too. Those w/ignitors/timers cost a bunch. will sell then at a higher profit margin. Less wok, more profit. much lighter work. Just unloaded 8500 pounds of bowls and am soaking wet. 48 inch bowls, heeaavy supplier says I am the only one stupid enough to do so many 48's And I buy the thick wall 36's and 42's. Going to pick up a push behind Big Joe fork lift tomorrow before I kill my back. check it out, will modify it with bigger wheels and wider stance. Extend forks.  |

Intheswamp @shotgunner captbobwhat comes around, goes around. She said she was going to keep that puppy. Breaking the (my) old 3 dog max rule. Oldest one is 12 and has had terminal (lymphatic)cancer. Doc said she would last 1-2 months over a year ago. she shows no signs of being sick at all knock. Guess we will be a 4 dog family for a while. Visiting gal from Cali washed her. The whole puppy condo was white, as were the dog beds, other pups, grass, asphalt. i got another one chewed out. I get every litter and walk them to the(darker) mud bottoms at 5-6 weeks and let them follow me out in water. No fear of swimming at that age. And no fears after. Owners like a swimming dog(in most cases). They also stay around my loud metal operations and acclimate to loud noises. They never have fear issues. Other stuff, I am OK at making them well rounded by messing with them. 4-8 weeks impressionable time.

The stupid people of this province voted in a environmentalist left wing party 1 year ago that has for the first time put our province 10 billion in debt from a yearly deficit until they took power. The highest unemployment rate of any province and is about to tax us up the ass with a new carbon levy tax, which in return, industry has decided to pack up and leave the province for greener pastures, also due to lower oil prices and them shutting down the coal industry. I read recently he is now the only staff-owner left working on them after having to let all others go due to our slumping economy, sad. Yep it is a rest area. Is Big Joe manually pushed or hooked up to the back of a tractor? I bet that would save a lot of wear and tear on the back. When our laser engraved topper shows, I'll take a pic of it for ya to see. |

Sorry to hear about your failing economy spirit. Govts. are masters of doing such. I am betting on environmental impacts raising prices on steel too. Steel for instance has gone up 40% since beginning of year, scrap lags it and has not changed. I have stock piled about 100,000 pounds of scrap bowls and am continuing monthly as much as I can afford. Looking at 5-7 year supply. However, I am concerned they will ban or restrict open burning and put a vice on fire pit use some day. Catalytic converters are required in some locations on wood stoves. Not so easy for a fire pit. Future looks good so far, but am trying to buy steel low so I can sell high if I had to liquidate. Basically my failure is more of a concern of govt actions than economic issues. Been dodging the govt for 25 years-reducing employees, living back in the woods, selling enviro friendly products, classifying as farm, selling real estate. Govt bunch are big real estate investors, they have it way under taxed as opposed to the real working man's wages. |

Can't imagine many folks changing over frequently in reality, could you make a lighter support (ring that sits on the bottom or spokes that hang on the edge) or design it so it clips/pins on top of the cover, leaving the cover intact. pushbutton, no smoke, no mess probably good for the richey folks. fun tinkering. |

Fire pit covers/snuffers/table tops are kinda hard to find. This is overkill for the light weight burner. Burner does look good set in a continuos top though. And it will serve as a good spot to put coffee and TV(fire pit) dinners on. However, I get a lot of requests for covers with no handles so they can be used as a beer table with out any obstructions. And they can serve food on them w/out obstructions. I was guessing they may buy a dry cover and a burner cover for increased cover sales.... First burner I ever bought, so it is entry level. And it is UL listed as only the Chinese seem to be able to pull off with our crooked govt. UL seems to put their brand on some really China made garbage. Most UL 'Made in USA' listed burners are $2000 when equipped with PB or remote start. So el cheapo burner for el cheapo intro into gas pits. Will see. It looks neat and clean, and the roll top covers were in my hands so the design. So you are saying to leave cover intact. Remove cover to access gas burner sitting on a light(er) weight support ? I like that. I still prefer a surround for the burner for utility. But it could be much more light weight. Thanks for the ideas oregon. |

Will let you ponder that one I have sold one inch oversize covers for the table top pits to keep ALL rain out. If you use the base which does cover the burner it still manages to get water in the center hole. Been there done that. A small rain lip on the cover just bigger than the burner would get it done. i can get these for $450-$800, new about $2800. Been around over 50 years. Built like BSH. Will extend forks and weld taller wheels/axels for stability and ease of rolling. Longer forks so wife can load them into pick up truck so I can go away. 1000# capacity. I rarely go over 300#. May make work stations on the forks for ease of fabrication and further back savings. Had to drag wife away from seller, she was drooling. Quite a specimen that boy. My competitors are asking for trouble. I have watched them on the inet using employees to lift these jokers. Matter of time and they will get a bad back claim filed on them. And if they become a biz OSHA/insurance will slam them for making employees pick up too much.  Guts, car battery powered hydraulics  |

Anything that saves the back and extends your productive years is money well spent. This old man already had one back surgery 20 years ago, successfully. Being able to weld at different elevations would improve fatigue and quality. i.e., using this as a work table base. |
