firepitsatlanta.com has gotten lost on the world wide web. Not sure why but orders came to a screeching halt for 2 months now. The website gal is trying to figure it out. First time in 3 years this issue has arisen. Competition is increasing in the fire pit arena. However last month an order for 300 - 36 inch fire pits has been secured for 2020. Perfect timing ! Me and Alan can build these 50 in 4 days if I can get the lard out of his ass(he works me into the dirt). This gives a year to solve the search engine issues. The first 50 units less covers. They fit in a 22 foot U-haul and will head to a Tennessee mountain camping park. 
That's a big order! Good for you! They obviously recognize quality and a durable product.

Regarding your website, it very well could be the google monster giving preference to paid ads. I know when I google anything, I get more ads for crap than for what I was looking for.

Thanks for the words guys. Last year it cost 85k to ship 300 fire pits via Fed Ex and freight. Add filling out shipping papers, pallets, shuttling to freight company etc. This middle sized pit averages $200 in shipping costs, so about 60k total ship costs if shipped individually. This order will be picked up by the client in 6 trips. Big time saver. Camp sites should be pursued knave. The mountains are 100 miles away and are a camping metropolis. I hope to finish a small cabin up there next year. Perhaps a sales base ? rockjunquie, this company approached us thru Etsy. The sale will be done without Etsy involvement of course. hummingbirdstones It was a miracle that the initial website lasted 3 years without numerous tune ups. A surprise that the cancer of paid ad traffic did not attack sooner. We started a Google ad 6 weeks ago. Got immediate visits but ad traffic rarely buys. They attract mostly window shoppers. |

My favorite is when I type a word incorrectly and don't catch it and the results come up with "Looking for x8dhkD? We've got that!" Ebay. |

For myself I purposely scroll off the ads at the top unless they are the exact site I was looking for anyways. Often clicking the ads at the top will take you to a 'yellow pages' of competitors for the item you are searching. And then creates problems getting back to the original search page. In the past 2 years my title 'firepitsatlanta' verbatim has become key and tag words in most of my competitor's websites. From small competitors to big box east to west coast. Fortunately title words rule search over key and tag words. Tis a nasty internet world out there. Google owns and controls the www internet. This is an issue because they employ many of the world's cutting edge algorithm experts. Powerful influential and controlling position. Average age maybe 32(like Evan), but mostly Californian. Interesting. |

Could be and hope it is a temporary surge. Sales died Dec/Jan so adjustments were made. Looks like the adjustments were too much ! If sales go crazy it has to be sold and I don't want that. No interest in a having a bunch of employees Henry. Or some high demand business. |

This is the fight. April and May 2020 has gone insane. Best we can tell it is due to people buying fire pits to entertain themselves during the corona epidemic. Steps are being taken as fast as possible to keep up with this new Ferrari income. Why not, I am 63 years old and could use some retirement stash. Still not going to back down from a challenge. I love a production demand with limited resources, even better with plenty of resources. Step 1 Completed a fire pit hauler almost finished back in May 2017. Was hoping it may become useful. Hauls 8 pits/trip to freight yard.  Finally a fork lift. Actually two fork lifts, both electric. Old bulletproof Toyota and Allis Chalmers midgets with NO computers.   A warehouse in the back yard being built. Two 12' roll up doors being installed.  And the reason for all the expenditures. Already a nice income. April and May totally crazy. An unexpected explosion. What a rush.  Hiring more neighbors to help out. Welders where ever I can find them. |

This one quite a bit more lucrative than tumbled rocks however ! This will be a real fun fight. Goal is to start Monday morning and have all production and orders completed by noon Wednesday. And I'll want to hire retired folks like yourself. I seem to get good work from us turtles as compared to the hares. |

He he. There is a time to use your hands for the task at hand. If in the emergency business I get the constant nursing of the phone HankRocks. I DO NOT have cell service at the work stations ha ha, a valuable arrangement for some workers trust me. Another solution to that, perhaps even better is piece meal work. If that fellow wants to work that phone till midnight that is his business. He/she gets paid by the unit be it fast or be it slow. |
