I gave options that were simple and easy and a hard one for both months, February had both hearts and valentines colors as themes, someone could have made a pink oval if they wanted. This month someone could have made a green circle if they wanted. I find that having options is more inclusive for everyone than having one set option. This month I will add in an option for those that don't rockbound. You're missing my point. I know this isn't just about me but you keep asking why participation is down so I'm answering you why MY participation is down. You are complicating and over-thinking the themes. Do you seriously think I want to be the person who "optioned" for making a red cab in February when everyone else busted their ass and made a heart? |

I think you are kidding ... in which case I have to applaud you for a very funny twist on the over-complication conversation.. well-played sir! nop being serious, the fossil ones the shell itself wouldn't be cabbed although it would be polished, I would cab the surrounding rock so the shell looks inset. As for the actual shell i'm not sure but I heard of people doing it before. I have to locate my fossil material but it is something ive been wanting to try for some time. Probably won't be this month that i do it though. Ive got some AK material i'd like to do the same with but the things are in a hard substance. Looks like "coquina" or so its called locally. I know a local person who makes cabs out of moose hooves... seems odd but looks decent |

I like urban rockhounding the best.
Friday I "collected" lapis, fire agate, Bruneau jasper, Rhodochrosite, Ocean jasper, and a bunch of other stuff all at the same place about 10 miles from home.
Can't beat that.
