I ordered new wheels from John, so I should be getting some more hard things done soon. some chrysocolla malachite from TommyGood ol snowflake obsidian Green gem bone. This is really cool in person. Chinese crinoid marble- a big one African dumortierite. Beautiful stuff. I hope I spelled it right. I took the picture upside down. More ballarat marble royal rhodonite Australia- This is the color of fine bustamite in person. This has the highest dome that I've ever done. Rowley mine chrysocolla Silver in cobaltite- wicked hard to photograph a mirror! You can see my camera, my arm, some of my head and my ... um ... chest. Thanks for looking. Hopefully, I'll have some agates next.

Great cabs Tela I really love the silver one. Is that material dirty to work with?

Great cabs Tela I really love the silver one. Is that material dirty to work with? Hi Tom, Oh, hell ya! It is very dirty to work! Turns everything black. Even stained my dop sticks black. But, it is easy to work and very gratifying.

I purchased a number of Tela's latest cabs, I received them this morning. I want to say they are very high quality and great polish. Though most are free-form they are regular enough to be able to set in bezels and look good. Thanks Tela for the 2 gifts, I will be buying more. Bennett

Nice stuff. Can you tell me about the crysocolla malachite? Is it a real stone? I have some but I thought it was manmade. Maybe I "had" some and already trashed it. I wanted to just throw away all the manmade stones in the interest of saving time, since I can't sell them and I don't wear them myself. Now I feel bad seeing how good yours looks but I got into a space crunch...

The slabette totally did not look manmade, at all.

I made a couple of cabs from it and the malachite/chrysocolla (whatever it is) undercut like crazy. Such a contrast in hardness between the agate and the copper mineral.

Such a contrast in hardness between the agate and the copper mineral. I thought it was in quartz. My wheels are so dull, I doubt it would have cut agate so easily. The blue chrysocolla on the surface ground out and left what look like plumes or threads of malachite, but it could be green chrysocolla, I suppose. I didn't have any problems with undercutting- but I think that's because of my dull wheels.
