Since we have members from all over the place, I was wondering what word everyone uses to describe that bubbly drink.

Generally, the South prefers sweeter Pepsi. I do not. I like Coke (Diet Coke). But, I gave it up for Diet 7-Up. (dark soda ruins your bones)

Coke, unless at home a Diet Dr Pepper which is rarely served in fast food/restaurants. Atlanta is home to Coke so stands to reason.

Soda pop or pop around here... Used to like Pepsi, Orange Crush and Bubble Up when younger. Went to Canada Dry Ginger Ale twenty years ago.

I used to drink way too much diet soda. Wife told me to switch back to sugared ones and I'd drink less and she was right. My favorite treat is a Mexican Coke with my favorite chicken chimichonga at my favorite Mexican joint. They still make their coke the old way with cane sugar and it's way better. Coke and Mexican food is right up there with Oreos and milk or beer and pizza before I got my alcohol allergy. Yum!..Mel

I don't drink it no matter what it is called, though I refer to it as soda pop. I drink water all day, normally coffee in the morning, and white wine now and then. All good!

Glass bottle. Whats that? The only thing that comes in glass here is beer. They only time I drink pop is when I go to the bar with friends. Most bars here don't serve coffee.

I have seen special runs back home that advertise cane sugar and they better taste. Maybe that is why the pop when I was a kid seemed to taste better? * = have to add the 'cola' part down here, don't ya know

We call it "pop" in Michigan. My sister in Tennessee said that they call it "a cold drink" there.
I have a follow up question. We have a ginger ale made in Michigan called Vermors. It is completely different than Canada Dry ginger ale. It's aged in oak barrels. I had always heard that you couldn't buy it outside of Michigan, but recently heard that it available other places now. If you inhale the bubbles, you will cough. My necessary and nephews used to call it "the coughing pop". Is Vernors available in your state?
